Courtney Thorne-Smith (born November 8 in 1967) is an American actress from the United States. Her credits include Alison Parker in Melrose Place, Georgia Thomas in Ally McBeal, Cheryl In According to Jim, and Lyndsey McElroy's recurring role on Two and a Half Men. Thorne-Smith was born in San Francisco, California, and grew up in Menlo Park, a suburb south of San Francisco. Her father, Walter Smith, was an expert in market research using computers, as was her mother, Lora Thorne, was a therapy therapist. Courtney was seven when her parents divorced. Courtney lived with both parents for a variety of times. Jennifer the older sister is an ad executive. She attended Menlo-Atherton High School in Atherton, California and graduated Tamalpais High School in Mill Valley in 1985. She also performed for the Ensemble Theater Company in Mill Valley during her time in high school. Thorne Smith's first film appearance was in the 1986 feature film drama Lucas. She was joined by Winona Ryder (Corey Haim) and Charlie Sheen. In the 80s, she appeared in a variety of films, including Welcome to 18 (1986), Revenge of the Nerds II : Nerds in Paradise (1987), Summer School (87) and Side Out (1990). In 1998, she appeared as an actress in the box office flop Chairman Of The Board with Carrot Top. In 2009, she starred in Sorority Wars. In the beginning of the 1990s, Thorne Smith was a lover of Andrew Shue, her on-screen lover from Melrose Place. In June 2000, the actress got married geneticist Andrew Conrad; the couple ended their relationship in January of 2001. On January 1, 2007, she married Roger Fishman, president of the company that markets the Zizo Group and author of the book What I Know. On the 11th of January 2008, she turned 40 she gave birth to her son, Jacob Emerson Fishman.
