Abigail Marie Clancy Bio

Abigail Marie Clancy is an English lingerie, catwalk and TV model. In 2006, she was runner-up in Britain's Next Top Model cycle 2. She also won the series 11 and 12 on Strictly Come Dancing 2013. In 2015, she has been Britain's Next Top Model. Clancy was born in Liverpool. She is the second-oldest child of four siblings: Karen (nee Sullivan), Geoffrey Thomas Clancy. Clancy was raised in Woolton in a suburb near Liverpool. She attended St Mary's Catholic Primary School as well as St Julie's Catholic High. Clancy formed the girls' group Genie Queen, which was directed by Andy McCluskey (Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark). Clancy was one of thirteen finalists for Living TV's Britain’s Next Top Model's second season in the year 2006. The contest lasted for ten weeks for an opportunity to model. Clancy along with fellow contestant Lianna fowler made it to the final runway show, and they were eventually crowned the runner-up. Clancy has appeared as a model in a variety of newspapers and magazines following his appearance on Britain's Next Top Model. In May 2007, Clancy was featured on the cover of Arena magazine, and modelled the Triumph Bonneville Motorbike. Clancy was selected for Sports Illustrated magazine's swimsuit edition 2010. Clancy was chosen for her connection to Peter Crouch. She was photographed by Yu Tsai in only body paint, which made it appear as though she was sporting the England shirt. Clancy was featured in a campaign for Umbro sportswear, modelling the England shirt. She was also photographed with other footballer's wives and girlfriends from countries that have won the World Cup. Clancy was a model for the Giles Deacon Ready-To-Wear Giles Spring 2011 collection. In July 2013, Clancy walked in the campaign of London designer Hasan Hejazi. The campaign featured a fashion editorial shot by Absynth and a fashion film produced by Gabriel Gettman. Clancy was also featured on the August 2011 UK Esquire magazine cover by Solve Sundsbo. Clancy together with Suki Waterhouse (and Cara Delevingne) was featured in LOVE magazine’s December 2013 Advent Calendar. Clancy was featured on the cover of British Marie Claire in July 2014 and British Elle in March 2015. Abbey Clancy, along with her daughter Sophia Crouch, collaborated in October 2019 with Lipsy, a London-based fashion company to introduce their AW'19 collection. In January 2020 the collection for AW19 was officially launched in the UAE.
